Why this site exists
Choosing where to live at UIUC is one of the biggest decisions students make, and most of the useful information lives in group chats, old Reddit threads and word of mouth. This site puts honest, first-hand experiences in one place and helps students find people to live with.
Two parts
Housing reviews cover five kinds of housing: University Housing, Private Certified Housing, off-campus apartments, sublease takeovers and anything else, like co-ops or host families. Buildings and the companies that manage them are reviewed separately.
Group applications let you describe the living arrangement you want through a short quiz, publish it, and find students whose schedules, budgets and habits fit yours. Groups form here. Official applications to landlords and housing offices still happen directly with them.
How we keep it useful
- Reviews are first-hand experiences only, and anyone can report content that breaks the guidelines.
- Verification badges show when someone confirmed a UIUC email or proved they lived somewhere. What the badges mean.
- No paid placements. Landlords and management companies can't pay to change ratings or remove honest reviews.
- Your quiz answers stay private unless you choose to show them.
Independent and non-profit
The site is run by students as a non-profit project. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University Housing or any landlord.
